In late 2007, Acer has signed an agreement with the International Olympic Committee, which comes into force in 2009 According to the contract; the company will sponsor the Olympic Winter Games in 2010 in Vancouver and 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Acer has recently introduced its first phone based on Android – one-piece device Liquid. Despite the emergence of official information, data on the technical side of new items are very scarce. Recently, Acer held a presentation of Liquid in France, thanks to which it became known more details about the new phone.

The first thing worth noting – contrary to the expectations set in Liquid Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will operate at a frequency of 768 MHz instead of 1 GHz. The display has a diagonal of 3.5 “and resolution of 800 x 480 pixels (using the capacitive sensor technology). This handset has 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB ROM. Lovers will appreciate the presence of photo 5-megapixel image sensor with autofocus. Ample opportunities are provided with smartphone modules HSPA +, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth. To connect the headphones provided for the standard 3.5-mm jack.

Dimensions of new items are 115 x 62,5 x 12,5 mm, weight – 135 grams. In France, the Liquid complete with 2 GB SD-card will be available at the end of the year for a suggested retail price of 350 euros. Later Acer also will launch the version with 16-GB card in the kit.

Mobile Tech World argues that the working CPU clock speed of the first Android Phone from Acer, Liquid, is only 768 MHz, although this model is based on the Snapdragon platform with 1 GHz processor. This information was obtained from the french portal Revioo.com, which, incidentally, laid out a new promotional video clip about Acer Liquid.
On the phone is loaded with widgets for Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other social networks. Separate widget opens a multimedia library.

Acer Liquid will be available in four colors: black, red and white. Issue will be held at the end of the year, probably in December.

In the spring of last year, Acer has signed an agreement to purchase one of the leading players in the market of smartphones and communicators based on Windows Mobile – the company E-Ten. The result of fruitful cooperation in length per year was the first line of smartphones under the brand name Acer, apparently not having any common features with known devices that manufactured Glofish E-Ten. Today we look at one of the representatives of the new line – smartphone Acer F900.

The first thing that comes to mind when looking at the novelty, – iPhone! The device is actually very similar to the famous “Apple phone”.The  same on the two dimensions of the case (118 x 64 mm), very large display, smooth glossy front panel, the rounded corners and edges, mirror framing around the perimeter and even metallic battery compartment lid!

However, do not worry – the quality of manufacture, materials and appearance in general, Acer F900, without a doubt, is one of the best smartphones on the market. Thanks  to the smoother edges- novelty lies in the hand like a glove. The only pity is that the glossy finish front panel instantly covers with fingerprints. Yes, and matt finish plastic and metal elements of the posterior wall are exposed to the same disease.

Located below the display main control unit has a four touch buttons that are illuminated bright blue LEDs. These buttons are responsible for the reception and the abolition of the call, the opening of the standard Start menu and close the current window. It’s nice that the manufacturer took care of those who are not  fans of touch control, accompanied by keystroke small Corps vibro-touch . But for the lack of a joystick or even touch navigation buttons, the developers should be given to bold minus. The situation could have saved the wheel on one of the side faces, but not this time.

First I would like to recall  that Acer M900 – a new model, which is a part of a series of Tempo. This smartphones is the one with the help of  which Acer opened its history in the world of such devices. Although handheld computers based on Windows Mobile, this manufacturer has already done so,but  smartphones – a new direction for Acer.

With this the company still is not as simple as it seems on the slides, which were shown at a press conference in Barcelona. On the one hand, as if all the models perfectly distributed over the segments,  the management of the company has a good idea of what kind of user will be targeted for specific devices.

On the other hand, users have an entirely different view of the fact that they are going to buy. For Acer this is certainly new, but in the world of smartphone company until you are completely popular,  potential buyers of models from this manufacturer are not sure what to take.

Simply put, Acer M900 positioned as a device for business, employed people (as, indeed, all manufacturers models come with a keyboard), but in reality device, is likely to interested a completely different audience. Great quality screen, keyboard , which is easy for a couple of days getting used to, and stable operation of the system (slow renunciation of the roots of E-Ten still happening now). We get a lot of devices  for writing / copying in a chat room audience, which also likes to read on your device (for this purpose in the M900 is the scroll wheel).
